Ok first off hello and thank you for joining this new forum....as you may have noticed the last forum "PSP FASTLOADER AND ISO" started by delboyuk...has become very tiresome to read andlengthy...so here is the updated thread...and please remember to read before posting questionsthat have already been answered, thanks...
For all ISO loaders to work you will need either a 1.0 firmware or a 1.50 firmware....1.51, 1.52,
2.0, 2.50, or 2.60 firmwares will not load ANY ISO's...also you will need the ISO not the
PSP_GAME folders and UMD_DATA.Bin files...if you get those folders\files then you have extracted too far and will need to rebuild(look for guide on how to rebuild below)...
UMDEMULATOR v0.8C(YOU WILL NEED A UMD IN THE DRIVE FOR THIS LOADER TO WORK!!):
+PSP
| |
| +GAMES
| |
| |
| +UMDEMULATOR
| +UMDEMULATOR%
|
|
|
+ISO <-- Put iso here
Devhook(YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE A UMD IN THE DRIVE FOR THIS LOADER TO WORK!!):
+PSP
| |
| +GAMES
| |
| |
| +DEVHOOK
| +DEVHOOK%
|
|
|
+ISO <-- Put iso here
To make your firmware 1.50 from a 1.51 or 1.52 firmware you will need to manually update your psp to 2.0 firmware(DO NOT USE THE AUTO UPDATE AS YOU WILL GET A 2.60 FIRMWARE THAT IS NOT DOWNGRADEABLE!!!)
to manually update your psp to 2.0 status:
Create a folder named "UPDATE" in the PSP\GAME directory...place the 2.0 eboot file into that folder(the UPDATE folder)..then back out of USB mode and then go to the memory stick icon on your psp and run the update folder...(WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PSP IS FULLY CHARGED AND PLUGGED INTO THE AC ADAPTER WHEN UPDATING AND DOWNGRADING!!!)
to downgrade once updated:
Steps to use the MPH downgrader: - Create an UPDATE folder in the /PSP/GAME/ folder of your memory stick - Copy EBOOT.PBP (update 1.50) in /PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder - Unpack MPHDowngrader.zip
- Copy overflow.tif in your /PSP/PHOTO/ folder of your memory stick - Copy h.bin to root of your memory stick (meaning in ms0:/) - Copy index.dat in root of your memory stick (meaning in ms0:/ as well) - Plug the AC adaptor You memory stick filesystem should look like this (where X is your memory sticks directory): X:/h.bin X:/index.dat X:/PSP/PHOTO/overflow.tif (with no other pictures in there) X:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP (the 1.50 Firmware update eboot) What you do next is go into the Photo Menu on the PSP and it will show some jumbled text, which is normal. Wait about 30 seconds and then restart your PSP. From there you will now have a new file in your PSP?s root
directory called ms0:/index.dat.bak. In the next step you will go to your Game Menu, Then Memory Stick, and then Launch ?PSP Update ver 1.50.? It will then ask you if you really want to downgrade and then lead you along to the actual installing. Here is where I got scared. It installed to 99% then errored. This is OK. Restart your PSP and turn it back on. It will come up with another error which is OK as well. Restart it again and you will have PSP firmware version 1.50, and it will lead you through setting up language and time etc.
You can grab the MPH downgrader and 2.0 firmware Eboot file from the link in my sig...
oK, now onto some other questions about GTA, The Hustle, Star Wars: Battlefronts, and Midways Arcade...
GTA: Will NOT play with any known loader at the moment, you will need to update to a 2.0 firmware to play this game with a UMD...
The Hustle: Can be played but has to be re-built(look farther down in this guide to see how to rebuild this iso)
Star Wars: Battlefronts: Can be played with UMDEMULATOR V0.08c...but you will have to set the loader to "Copy Load" instead of "System Menu" to play it...
Midways Arcade: Can be played with UMDEMULATOR V0.08c...but you will have to set the loader to "Copy Load" instead of "System Menu" to play it...
To Use UMDGEN TO REBUILD GAMES:
to convert the PSP_GAME folder and UMD_DATA.bin file into ISO format is to use UMDGEN...download a program called UMDGEN, it's a much easier and faster way of reverting those folders\files back into Iso format...you can grab that program from the link in my sig...once you
have downloaded Umdgen, open it up and Drag and Drop your PSP_GAME and UMD_DATA.bin files\folders into the right side of the window..then select File from the Heading and then select Save As...this should bring up another window..i usually select my Desktop as the destination of this save...then once a destination is selected click ok...and wait a few minutes and your iso should be created at where you designated it to be...then just place that iso in the ISO folder on your psp and start up fastloader\umdemulator\devhook launcher to begin playing the iso...
To Play The Hustle(by: Aenea):
PSP 2.X PRX & EBOOT File Decryptor v0.1
Create a ms0:/Enc folder with the EBOOT.BIN (and/or .PRX files) you want to decrypt, run the decryptor and it will create a ms0:/Dec folder with the decrypted files. I've noticed that it won't run all decrypted .prx files, so just grab some 1.5 ones from
another game replace the prx'es, replace the BOOT.BIN with the decrypted EBOOT.BIN, create an ISO using UMDGEN, load UMD emu, set BOOT.BIN to on and use copy load...For now, only PES5 works this way, it seems there's still another problem to get the other
games to work, but am still working on it...Extract the PES5 iSO image with WinRAR to a directory on your PC Go to this directory, and remove the SYSDIR/UPDATE folder Go to USRDIR and remove all the languages you dont want (keep e_text.afs for English, deleted the others)
Copy the SYSDIR/EBOOT.BIN to your PSP, in a folder called "Enc" at the Root,
Copy the 2 folders decrypt and decrypt% (from HERE) into your PSP/GAME folder Run the Decryptor v0.1 from the PSP (obviously, you have to be in 1.5 for that) This produces an EBOOT.BIN file in a new folder called "Dec" Rename this file into BOOT.BIN, and overwrite the original BOOT.BIN in SYSDIR with it Overwrite all the PRX files in the USRDIR folder with the ones from another game that uses 1.5 libraries (for example, Winning Eleven 9: Ubiquitous Evolution JAP) Launch UMDGen, rebuild the iSO, and then copy it to your Memory Stick
Run UMD Emulator in Copy Load mode (with 'use BOOT.BIN' turned ON) and enjoy!
To Copy a DVD to your PSP:
Alright i guess by the title you already know what this guide is for...well let's get right down to it..you're going to need to download two programs for this one (DVD Decrypter and
PSPVIDEO9)...once you have them downloaded and installed, Open up the drive you are going to use and insert the dvd of your choice...then open up DVD Decrypter...once open, go to the top middle box(right below where it says "Source")....select the drive you have the dvd in, now look at the top listings and select "Mode"...this should bring up
a drop down menu select "IFO I"...Now, look at the top listings again and select "Tools"...once the drop down menu appears select "settings"....once this window pops up select the tab marked
"IFO Mode"....now once this window pops up look for a box labeled "Options"...right below this labeling should be a box labeled "File Splitting" click on the box and select "None" from the drop down menu.....now click ok and it should bring you back to the original dvd decrypter window...now look to the window to the right...you will see a bunch of folder labeled "VTS_01, VTS_02 and so on" click on the largest one(usually VTS_01)....right below this should be a box
that has the chapters in it, make sure ALL of the chapters are checked...now once this is done click on the "Stream Process" tab in the top right window..this should bring up a lot of Audio/subtitle selections and one video selection... Check the box labeled "Enable Stream Processing"...after you have done this make sure the VIDEO selection and one AUDIO selection is made...UNCHECK the rest of the boxes...now you're almost done with DVD Decrypter....look to the left box(labeled "Destination") and select the location that you would like to put this movie(don't put it on the psp drive just yet...it won't fit)...now once you have done this, click on the button that has the DVD disc pointing at the Hard Drive....now sit back and wait for DVD
Decrypter to do it's thing....After it is done you will need to open up PSPVIDEO9...once you have it up and running...look for the button labeled "New Job" this will bring up a pop window...find
the directory/folder that you put the VTS_01 file in...click on the Open button..this should bring you back to the PSPVIDEO9 window...look to the left of the "New Job" button and there should be a box labeled "Title" you can rename the movie now if you would like...now look to the box below this labeled "Quality Profile" select this option from the drop down menu(SP/320x240/29.97fs/1500kbps Stereo/128kbps)...then all you have to do is click on the "New" button to the right and it will bring up a pop window with the PSP's version of the file name,
the size, and the title... then look to the bottom of the window and click on the "Copy Video to PSP" button..and it will begin to transfer/convert the movie to your PSP button

@Jalathole : I read in the previous thread that you have new iso games in your website, like The Sims2 and Kingkong. Firstly, i think pspearth is down coz i only get an access denied message everytime i try to go to your website. Second, can the umdemulator V0.8c play sims2 and kingkong? These games need f/w v2.0 to play, did you make it so that the iso version of these games will play on the emulator?
I also read that the v0.8c umdemulator can hide the corrupted data icon, i still have mine on my psp, can you teach me how to hide it? It doesn't bother me much but it would be better if i don't see it anymore, LOL :o) Thanks a lot.

Now everyone should take learning of this so people don´t have to ask the same question all the time. Many of us have a big load of difficulties about making a ISO image to play on your PSP:s. Just a few people who knows what to do. So let´s take a dumb noob like... "me" that never succeeded whit this we´re talking about. In many tutorials we have been told to press the "???" button, or why not the "??????????????" button in VXCdrom,Wtf does that meen? I´ve do´nt got any of those buttons. Now here is what I´ve tried. Look at the pic.

Psp 4-evah!

some people actually have the japanese version of vcdromx...which would give you ???? marks instead of actual words or letters...but there is a MUCH easier and compatible program to rebuild your ISO's with...it's called UMDGEN...here's a link for it: http://www.umdgen.com/UMDGen_v2.00.zip just drop your psp_game and umd_data.bin files in the right side of the umdgen screen and select File and then select Save As...name the iso what you want and click OK and it will rebuild the iso for you...

kindly evnflow,
I'm a newbie, still have much to learn about PSP. Btw, thanx for the guide, it's very useful..
But i still have question, hope u could help me..
Based on your guide, it looks like we can upgrade to 2.0 and back to 1.5.. is it true? OR that guide only used for 1.51 and 1.52 firmware. Cause i REALLY want to play GTA (it means upgrade to 2.00), but i still want to enjoy homebrew in my PSP (then go back to 1.5 after i finished playing GTA).
Thanx before..

you will be able to (manually) upgrade to 2.0 to play GTA and then downgrade back down to 1.50 to play iso's and homebrew...but i will warn you that downgrading too much can fry your psp...

Here is the story. A bunch of people said that they have v1.50. Then they trick their psp v.150 thinks that it has v2.0 or v2.5. Then they load Socom, GTA , or any actual UMD. And it works.
Does anyone in here have any common about this?
I still dont beleive this.

i got this to work except i used pspset instead. i was able to boot up grand theft auto on a 1.5. theres also another version called pspsetx0.2 which u kan only boot up when u upgraded to 2.0 and used the eboot loader. that version will trick your system into thinkin its a 2.5 if u wish. i have been able to run both wwe smackdown vs raw and nfs 5-1-0 when they require 2.5 upgrades on my 2.0 version psp.

@INARTIM.. copy the RAR File from the CD/DVD, then paste to folder ISO on Ur memory stick. Use UMDemulator and device hook, then U can play the game. For the manual detail just check out from the thread that relevant to Ur problem.
Do we still need PSPset? I heard some people brick their PSP when using this program.. Maybe with a new loader created by Fanjita, i still can play some homebrew on FW 2.00. Anyway, thanx for the info..
And.. Many many thanks to Fanjita & his friends for all of the good work!

Icon that U describe is RAR File (or that we call it ISO), DO NOT EXTRACT THE FILE, just put it on the ISO folder that U should create on the PSP root. Here is the display on Ur memory stick..
/:PSP> GAME
> PHOTO
> MUSIC
> SAVEDATA
/:ISO> (put Ur ISO file here)
/:UMDEMULATOR
U need DEVHOOK to boot ur ISO file and of course.. UMDemulator.
Make sure that Ur Firmware is V1.5
Good luck

Hi, my site was down due to lack of bandwidth.
King Kong and Sims 2 were not playable when you were trying, but now they are using the MPH Game Loader which you can also get off my site. Even GTA LCS is playable now! - http://www.pspearth.com you have to replace the prx files of the original umd iso rip with the new ones in a kit also on the site. once you have done this use umdgen to make it an iso, use umdem8c to load in system menu, then go to mph loader. for more details go to my site under guides...
