Why is tetris the only homebrew available for 2.5?
Is this all the hackers can manage to do or they just can't be bothered doing any other games?
I wouldn't mind doom/sonic/mario or something like thast bieng made to load through the gta exploit thing.

I need for 2.5/2.6 but thanks anyway.
Also I know for sure that only tetris is available and nothing else - my question is why?

@pro noob
the reason only tetris is running on psp 2.01 2.5 2.6
is that these things take time, a lot of time
i know that the guy who created tetris (fanjita) is also working on
Quote: EBOOT Loader
Here's the stuff I'd like to get into the EBOOT loader. They're in roughly the order that I expect to work on them.
* Get it working on v2.01, v2.5 and (eventually) v2.6, via the GTA savegame exploit. So far very simple EBOOTs, like Nem's Hello World, are working, but nothing is ready to release yet.
* Support some of the major remaining broken EBOOTs, such as PSP-GBA and SmashGPSP.
* Delete dead threads at application exit.
* Implement a ZIP-file filing-system module, to allow seamless use of homebrew within ZIP files.
* Find better ways to load kernel modules, such as SIRCS and Wifi
* Tool to insert the wifi-code into arbitrary wallpaper images.
* Incorporate bricker-trojan protection into the EBOOT loader by intercepting writes to the flash.
* Add suspend support, at minimum entering a mode with very slow CPU speed, and preferably blanking the screen. Ideally find a way to properly suspend the PSP.
* Add a code relocator, so that problem areas of memory can be avoided.
* IRDA support
* Add screenshot support
* Piracy-protected ISO loader.
GTA exploit
At the moment, we can run homebrew on v2.0+ PSPs using the savegame exploit for Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, but this is only supported for owners of the EU and US versions of the game.
I know of at least 2 other versions that also need support : the censored German version, and the Japanese version. I know how to convert the exploit for these versions of the game, but I need some more information before I can do it.
If you own a version of GTA other than European, German, or US, please contact me. Incidentally, Australians should be able to use the European version of the exploit without any trouble.
You can purchase GTA through Amazon using the links below. If you do so, a small portion of the price will go to support this project. Thanks.
and wants to work on
Quote: * A generic savegame editing tool, that could automatically work out the encryption keys for gamesaves, and let you edit their contents, before re-encrypting them.
* Some game ports from the gp32x versions. Why should they have all the fun?
* Look at other game exploits. Wipeout Pure seems to fulfill most of the criteria for a good game exploit: it's popular, seems quite buggy, and has a wide range of gamesave types.
* Look into methods of overcoming the current 4 GB limit for PSP storage - possibly by using partitioning.
but just doesn't have the time
remember these guys do this for free - and have other things to do ie, there own lives, work family and so on
just wait a little while and we will soon have all we need
visit http://www.fanjita.org for any updates
ps tetris works on 2.6 now

Yes I just got tetris working today which is a good sign.
So what you are saying is that other games can be made to boot from gta but its just the one guy doing all of this and he dosen't have the time as he is working on getting a proper eboot loader working for 2.5 and 2.6.

well not entirely - fanjita is a big part of it - but there are other peeps working on it. edison carter for instance (the guy who created the GTA hack, which fanjia's work is based on) just they havn't released anything yet
i believe it was only around a month ago that he had tetris on 2.01 (which was sh** to be honest, kept getting the same piece) and now its on 2.5 and 2.6 (which has a lot more security than any before it AND its better) thats not a big deal for the end user but for the psp scene in general is massive
if he gets Eboots working its gunna explode
you should then see a lot of homebrew on 2.01 2.5 and 2.6

Yea, remove your card then load up gta normally.
Put the card in and load your save file. Save it again straight away and now it should load up gta every time.
Worked for me anyway.
