I have firmware ver. 1.5 on my psp and I have all sorts of homebrew apps. but I wana play newer umd games. I dont wana upgrade and loose homebrew, I read about a version switcher that tricks the psp into thinking its runing a higher firmwire so you can play games like GTA and Burnout Ledgends w/out upgradeing. Anyone know if this exists and if so where can I find it?? thanx ---D

The version changer kinda sucks, it doesn't work with too many games, you should be able to load burnout with fastloader if you select load inserted UMD, but there is no way to play GTA on anything lower than a 2.0. The version changer is called sxt version changer or something, do a search in google and you'll find it. But it is hinestly easier to upgrade play the games you want and then downgrade after you get bored.

Isn't it bad for the PSP to keep flashing back between V2.0 and V1.5? I've only done it once so far to get V1.5; If I upgrade back to 2.o is it safe to flash back again?? thanx ---D

yes its safe

it is bad to keep re-writing the flash

theres a debate on the net at the moment on how many is too many

last time i saw one they were up to about 15 times so it shouldn't be too bad

there again if you got insurance on your psp when you bought it it really wouldn' matter

wouldnt you rather play games like GTA, which are unavailable on a 1.5?

no, personally i don't like GTA dont mind playing it for a while but its a bit repetitive - i would rather play RPG's theres a few gcoming out soon - i suppose they will require 2 or above.

ill have to make the choice then

What about some iso that can be found on the net if you can find them.
Do they allow you to play the iso file on 1.5 even if it was meant to be played on 2 or higher.
What i mean is ,is there away that these "hackers" strip out this thing that makes you upgrade to play these games when they rip them?

The same i guess as some DVD-R that are around the web they seem to have the region stripped out of them so they are region free.
