recently when i playback an audio cd that i just have burned it skips at the same points each time. i have tried to burn at slower speeds and it does not work. i have been using the same brand of cds successfully for awhile now but for the past month i have experienced this problem. i also bought a cd LENS cleaner and that did not work either. what could my problem be?

Your problem may lie with your CPU/HDD usage. Try closing all unneeded processes and programs before you write to CD.

When evolution selects its agents, it does so at a cost, makes demands in exchange for singularity, and you may be asked to do something against your very nature. This force, evolution, is not sentimental. Like the Earth itself, it knows only the hard facts of life's struggle with death. All you can do is hope and trust that when you have served its needs faithfully, there may still remain some glimmer of the life you once knew.

Are these from the same batch as the discs that work well? Maybe discs are bad. I'd suggest defragging the harddrive, reinstalling your software, check the discs for visable blemishes/imperfections, and make sure your writer's firmware is up-to-date.

Oh, and run a spyware and adware checker to make sure you don't have anything keeping your computer busy while you're trying to write a disc.

hope this helps,
john

Well, if these are from the same batch, then you shouldn't have to worry about the firmware since you've had success in the past.

Honestly, I'm stumped.. How old is the burner?
