ps2 online with wireless router?

Has anybody ever gotten a ps2 to work online with a wireless connection or through a router? If so, how did you get the ps2 to load the drivers either for the router or for the network adapter?
I'd just like to not have to run a broadband cable across the living room floor to the ps2. Whether that means I hook up the router to the ps2's network adapter and have my pc on the wireless adapter or vice versa, I don't care. I got a cheap router just for the sake of trying this but I'll be the first to admit I don't know what I'm doing.

You have to buy a wireless gaming adapter. Plug it into your ps2 and then you can use the router.

I'll take this down WHEN micro$oft decides to stop being lazy and make the capcom fighting games backwards compatible with the 360 dammit!!!
