Does anyone else have problems converting Xvid encoded AVI's on
to DVD using WinDVD Creator Platinum?
I've encoded probably hundreds of DVD's with this program and
overcome a bunch of problems but this Xvid thing is really a pain.
Whenever I try to use the software to burn and Xvid encoded AVI on
to a DVD it causes the computer to reboot or causes a system error
and shuts down.
This only happens with Xvid encoded files. Divx, MPG and just about
every other file type I've tried in it works perfectly but the
Xvid ones keep crashing the app or rebooting the PC every time I
try.
I've tried a couple different Xvid codecs such as Koepi's XviD
Codec, Nic's Xvid Codec (xvid.org) and even the Community
codec pack but they all do the same thing.
The videos play fine in Media player and don't have any glitches.
I've ran the files through AVIrepair to see if that will help and
it doesn't
I've even tried to re-encode the files to MPG or divx format using
various apps such as Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 (encodes black screen
and no audio), Ulead DVD Workshop 2 (Freezes the program when file
is imported), Virtual Dub (Audio goes out of sync and is distorted
with all kinds of electrical beeps and sound artifacts), NeroVision
(Reboots PC after 15 mins or so) and several other apps.
I don't have problems converting video files encoded with any other
codec, just the Xvid stuff.
Does anyone have any suggestion or a program that they absolutely
know will convert the Xvid files to DVD? Or at least something
that can convert them to something that can later be re-encoded
and burned. I'm stumped on this one.
