I Recently Bought a 50 pack of Maxell DVD-R Made in Japan and a pack of 100 Maxell DVD-R Made in Taiwan and read that The ones that are made in Japan are made by mitsubishe (sorry about the incorrect spelling. I am currently working my way through 50 out of the 100 pack to see if the Media ID Changes because I also read that very few are the better ones. I am currently at the 56th scan and so far no change in the Media ID The Media ID Reads RITEKG05. I am sharing this information so that if this is complete bull s..t I can maybe save other from wasting money too I say waste money because I Paid the same price for the 50 pack as I did for the 100 pack. Anyway I will keep people informed on what results I get when I try the 50 pack made in Japan. Dont get ripped off by those fakes

They're notfakes. Maxell is made in bother Japan and Taiwan. The ones made in Taiwan are manufactured by Ritek. MIJ ones are TYs.

If you found MIJ Maxells stock up. That said the MIT ones are fine.

Hello and thanks for your reply's. I recently finished scanning all 50 0f the Maxell made in Taiwan discs that I said I was scanning and also one from the Made in Japan pack and found out that the Maxell Made in Japan are Manufactured by Maxell and all 50 of the Made in Taiwan discs showed to be all Manufactured by Ritek. One last thing I must say is that I did not post the same thread twice because I changed the words around and added a word but I Guess they are basicaly the same thread so Thank you for that.

Just for information, the reason it not recommended to buy from taiwan is you don't know what you'll get from spindle to spindle, not disc to disc. I only use the Maxell +R full hub printables made in Japan, they are manufactured by Hitachi/Maxell high grade.
