Ok, I'm not an encoder, but I am a collector and have been downloading movies for several years. After a while it became easy to spot fakes and line up good, legit movies to download. This has all changed, and I fully admit I'm stumped. There were always telltale signs of legit movies. Y'know, each portion has 70 or 80 users that have it, none of them are showing alternate titles, even some of them have retyped the same name, indicating it's the real deal. Things like that. Now, in the last few weeks, every single movie I download is either a black screen or won't open at all. I'm positive I've got everything working correctly, have all the proper codecs installed, the works. Check out some of the recent files: The Hunted, The Core, Dreamcatcher, Tears of the Sun, etc. Every single one of them is a useless file, yet they show all the signs of being legit movies. Does anyone have a clue as to what's suddenly changed? If they are fakes, why haven't some of the sources renamed them? Is there a new codec that's suddenly being used that nobody knows about? I'm stumped!
