Since I have the Qoob Pro i would say the Qoob, but I have never tried the Viper Extreme so I can't say which one is better. Anyways, whether you get the Pro or the Extreme you won't regret it.

I would also like to know..

I'm leaning towards the Qoob Pro. Due to price, and it has been around longer, worked some bugs out, etc.

also, where did you order your qoob at ragde?

foundmy.com the chip was at home within 4 days I ordered. And it's the cheapest place. if you order from them e-mail them to comfirm the chip is in stock before you do anything

I too bought a Qoob Pro and it is great. the only thing i had to do was a firmware upgrade but after that it worked great. the foundmy.com is great too they give u a free screwbit/gamebit and 5 mini-dvds. one thing i recommend gettig is the top case cause then u can play regular size dvds.
Oh and hte foundmy.com is an official distributor for Qoob so it s little safer to buy from them as well.

hope that helps

Also ragde gave me this info on backing up a game with the qoob pro:Yes with the Qoob just insert a game press B while loading when the menus come up just go to your computer open IExplorer and type this http://192.168.1.32/DVD in your browser and save the file somewhere after it's done just rename the file to whatever game it is and put the extension as *.iso and done. That easier cant be.

Has anyone tried this and does it work?if it works and backs up the game 100% without any corruption or anything then ill go with a qoob pro.

Right now, the Qoob Pro is better since the Viper Team hasn't bothered releasing a fully functional BIOS for the Viper Extreme that uses all it's features. As of now, the only thing the USB can be used for is flashing the original Viper's Cobra BIOS to it.

New Viper bios out. Looks like the Viper takes the lead. You can tell Viper will be releasing many Cobra Bios updates in the near future. Unlike Qoob who hasn't updated their site in months, along with the so called 1.4 bios thats supposed to be released soon.

my advice go with the cheaper one cause the end result will always be playing back'd up games or making backups

I've never actually tried ripping games using the Qoob Pro's built in ripper. Just been using GCOM.

Can't really comment on the Viper Extreme's USB ripping capabilities.

I wouldn't trust the intergrity of the viper ripped games right now as it seems their bios is still in beta mode. Still don't understand why they rushed out the chip and didn't release a stable full feature bios with it
