I recently purchased a Panasonic DVD-RP62s (silver) deck from Best Buy, and it worked great with my DVD backups. (using Verbatim DVD+R Media, Sony 500ax Burner, and Recordnow Max set at 1x Speed.)

Of course being the picky guy I am, I decided that I needed the Black model of this deck (DVD-RP62k) to match my system, so I ordered a new one. For some reason, this unit will not play ANY of the discs my other unit could. What the hell?? I have since found that it will take DVD-R media from TDK, but why would two of the same model differ like that? Of course the logical assumption would be that they have different internals, but does anyone have true insight as to why this would be happening?
