I was having no problem backing up dvd, then I started getting the message "Failed to read file"D:\" Data error (cyclic redundancy check). I tried to go back and re-do a disk I had already shrank and burned, and got the same message. I am using dvd shrink, and did not know that I was using a decryper, but I think I am using DVD43. Does anyone know why this message would appear all of the sudden, and how do I fix it?

For the disc you already burned and are tyring to back up again - it sounds like the disc is either dirty, scratched or has started to degrade. What brand of media did you use?
If's it an original it could be the same reason as above just replace degrade with bad press or shrink can't handle the copy protection. Which movie are you trying to back up? If your have DVD43 running you'll see a green smiley in the tray.

I've found with a movie or 2, that if you have DVD43 running in the background and are trying to copy a movie that's already been stripped of protection that the disc won't be recognised by some programs... turn off DVD43 and then try again.
