usually double sided disc mean that one is full screen and the other is widescreen. You will just have to pop both in to find out. It might be special features on one and movie on the other, but like I said, just put them on to see.

I think in the case of GoodFellas the movie is on one side and the extras on the other.

This is the one of the earliest releases ("called flipper discs"), before DL became popular. You can use Recode & put both sides onto a DVD5, so you do not have to flip the disc over to watch the end of the film. I suppose you could use Clonedvd2 too, to do much the same as recode. Compress each side to half the size of a DVD5, about 2100Mb, then burn both files to a DVD5.

I've seen this before. It happened with teh LotR, if you get the disc set the first to are teh movie ALONE. You will just have to dop both or just compress it to insance ratios.

I believe the version you have is the first realease of this movie(one of the first dvds available, too). Besides having a 4:3 aspect with bars on the top and bottom(not true widescreen, remember one of the first dvds) it is also a flipper(part of the movie on both sides). You can do one of two things with shrink. You can make two discs for a whole movie(one disc for side A and another for side B), or you can put a file of the first side on your hard drive and when you put the dvd on side b, select re-author and choose movie only from the file you stored on you hd and then movie only from side B of the disc then compress it so fits on one disc. You can also purchase a blank dvd 10(single layer double sided) and make a similar copy.
