I Cant apply my new ringtones? Please help!

I converted song and transferred them from my pc to my Motorola v220 cell phone, I can listen to it, but there is NO button "to apply as ring tone".
The ring tones that came with the phone give me this option, but the transferred ones DONT even show this option. How do I get to be applied as my ring tone?
