I seen something pertaining to .rar file but it didn't answer my question and I didn't want to jack his thread, so here goes.

i have a .rar file that is a movie

there are 31 .rar's that are all pretty much the same size 47.6 mb's(total it's 1.41 gb's) now her is my question.

I can extract one of the files to a folder and watch the hole movie.

why are other files there? should I extract all .rar's to the same folder? wut is up with that?

I am just confused. cuz if I can have only one of the 47.6mb's on my drive and still watch the whole movie, why can't i delete the rest of the files?

any information is greatly appreciated.

I apologize if this has already been answered with different terminolgy, as I am pretty new to this idea.

That "one file" that you extracted is the whole movie.. if you look at the size of the file it's probably around 2Gb's, maybe less... the rar files are an archive of the file you got.. in other words, it is a compressed version of the file that is split into many parts for the purpose of making downloading them easier than one big file.

I hope I explained that correctly :) It was the gist anyway, LOL.

Alright cool, so you're saying on those kind like that, i can extract one file to a folder and have the whole thing??? then i can delete the rest of the stuff?
