need help backing up a "complete season" disc

I have a "complete season" dvd set that I'd like to make a back up copy of. Each side is very small though so I want to combine both sides onto 1 DVD. I'm just not sure how?!?! How do I save each side on my hard drive so that I can put them into shrink and then burn them?? Any help would be appreciated...also please use layman's terms. I'm not very good with computer slang. Thanks!!!

Thanks everyone for your help. I was able to get it to work. I looked for a guide on how to do it before I posted this message but couldn't find one. Thanks for the direction!!
