bought a philips chipset tv and fm capture card and the dog gone drivers will not work . windows keeps asking me to give a directery where the drivers are , i have used the cd and selected the driver folder on the cd --and nothing --tried the system 32 folder thinking maybe there were installed by the computer automatically. i just do not no what i should . is there a universal driver i could try . i googled this card and can not find factory drivers . i did however read about a dscaler program, would this work? i bought the card at the computer show on sunday . i only paid 40.00 , but i would like to use it at least once before it hits the shelf as another cool idea that i can not get to work . thanks for any suggestiuons.

Are you sure the Chipset is a Philips as it could be that the TV Tuner is a Philips but the Decoder Chip could be Something else Like Hopefully a BT848 or a BT878A.....

If it turns out that the Card has a Philips TV Tuner But a BT8*8 Decoder Chip (It might also say Connexant decoder) then you could use the "BTWinCap Drivers" which will work with any Card as Long as it has a BT8*8 Decpder Chip which are the Most poeular Decoder Chips on Older Capture Cards......You can Find this Out By Looking at the Biggest Chip on the Card and seeing what the Model Number is....

If you do have this Type of Chipset then do a Google search for "BTWinCap Drivers" and you will find them easilly enough....

Cheers

I have tried all of the suggestions in the forum. Is there an easy secret to getting the TV tuner to work? I am having an Unknown device pop up in my device manager that I cannot match to a driver. Help is appreciated!!!

To all the people having trouble with their philips chipset -pci tv tuner card 7130. I run XP Pro, the drivers that came with the card did not work i spent hours on the internet trying to find a patch or drivers to suit, could not find them anywhere. So I decided to reformat my computer with the card in the pci slot. Then I used the drivers that came with the card and it works excellent! I am very happy with it. My suggestion is to reformat with the card in the pci slot. It will definantly work.
Good luck, Mal
