I have an american PS2 (I live in Canada). Last time I checked, it doesn't need a HDD.

Perhaps the Swap Magic or a chipped console will get it to work, I have no need to use it right now as I don't have a network adapter yet. If it doesn't work for me, then I'll have to write a web browser. ;o)

I have gotten this to boot up, but it will only connect to some usb modem and or possably dialup, couldent get it to work with my US ps2 v4 with the net adapter at back with harddrive, it installs and runs but cant get past the setup. am wondering if theres a way for the Gurus to change it for other hardware, otherwise I think theres a gameshark thing called QCast but have yet to find it also I came across this today for USA http://www.brookfresh.co.uk/ntsc_instructions.html I have yet to try as I cant find my network setup disk, so off I go hunting. good luck

goto this link bellow, here is a much better browser that will work on both ntsc & pal consoles and only requires a standard sony internet adapter for use.
this is freeware and works (under c.station-first from the top of the dl list) :)

ehhh sorry to revive this really old thread but has anyone figured out a way to make a slim run a web browser? This hack is officially dead as the webpage is offline (guy didn't understand that GB of information would need to be xfer through the site & he couldn't afford to keep it online) Dead link
