I purchased the Dazzle 85 so I could edit and burn home videos to a DVD. I'm having problems getting the video captured to my desktop. I'll plug the devise into a USB port but my computer does not see it. I tried to download throught the USB direct into the software Studio9 put I didn't get any video. I'm working on a new emachine T6420.

Well If you Can You should return this Device to the Store and Get a Refund Because this Line of Dazzle capture devices are Notoriusly Bad...I owned a Dazzle DVC80 at one Time and I had Nothing But Problems with it From it Crashing my Capture Software to Low Quality Captures with Many Frame Drops and that was when I could get it to work...

USB Capture Devices are Not a Good Idea anyways because they are Plagued with problems mostly due to the Limited Bandwidth of USB...The USB Interface doesn"t have enough bandwidth to Efficiently and Consistantly Transfer Uncompressed Full resolution and Frame rate video to your PC without Quality issues ,Frame drops and Sync problems...
The Only USB Devices that are Worth Trying are ones that use Hardware Compression...
With Hardware Compression the Video Signal Is Compressed By a Chip on the Capture Device which Makes it so the device uses Less Bandwidth to Transfer the Compressed Video to the PC which helps eliminate the problems that are Inherant to Non-Hardware Compression USB Capture devices.....

One of the Better Hardware Compression USB capture devices is the "Hauppague WinTV PVR USB" which is not to be Confused with the "Hauppague WinTV USB" which is a Crappy Non-Hardware Capture device....

Overall though you are Better off with either a PCI Capture Device (Preferably with Hardware Compression) or an external Firewire Capture device Like the "Canopus ADVC-110" but it is a $250 Capture device but One of the Best especially for VHS,Hi8,VHS-C, Ect or any analogue Source.....

Good Luck
