Hi. New to the forum, so I have some questions that may have all ready been asked before. I am attempting to backup a multi episode dvd (CHEERS S6 D1). I am using rebuilder with CCE and have followed all suggestions in the guide. I have backed up other dvds (movies) successfully, but when I try to backup a multi episode dvd the resulting files are too large (4.56 GB) for a single layer disc. Did I miss a setting someplace? Is there an easy to follow guide for episode dvds w/ rebuilder? Thanks in advance.

hello what version of rebuilder are you using?? what version of CCE and how many passes!

series dvd's are somewhat different do not use steal space for extra's for example as rebuilder will default the biggest vts(episode) as the main feature and run the rest of them as extra's!

and secondly do not use one pass opv mode w/ them or interleaved/multi angle matierial as CCE will have trouble determining the right size!

I would make sure you use three pass! and run defaults if this gives you files to large then I would try hc!(excellent quality) then it would be time to set target's but let's figure out what the details are before you get into that!

L8ter, thanks for the reply. I am using RebuilderPro v 104 & CCE SP 2.7 I'll try the 3 pass method. I tried it with 1 pass. Maybe thats the problem. Thanks again for the help.

why would you be using 1.04?? try updating 2 1.06 jdobbs is a member here you should pm him if you've had your e-mail changed or what-not!!

that's when we can address problem's as there have been several bug fixes between here and there and it would be pointless to go over stuff that has already been addressed by the author!

With the 1 pass I've noticed sizing errors with movies I've backed up. Though in my case it wasn't episodes and they were undersized. Naturally it can go either way according to the error made. Go at least with 2. 2 is good for most movies and when encoding near 7GBs or more a lot of people with SP go up to 3 passes as insurance.
