It may be your power supply.

I had a problem encoding with shrink. my computer would crash to a reboot when encoding. I tried my power supply as a last resort and that ditd the trick.

It turned out that I only had a 250 watt power supply... UGH!

I am back up and running now with a 500 watt.

I hope this helps somebody
