AVI2DVD incompatibility

Severe problems encountered installing AVI2DVD in Windows XP.
Running it caused a blue screen crash, and on recovery components of seemingly unrelated sections -- in Dial-Up-Networking -- were destroyed.
There was an unusual installation with something I did not see documented, an AVISynth program installed with it's own installer right in the middle of the AVI2DVD install. Peculiar options for file associations were presented by it.

Why any connection at all should exist between a video processing program and dial-up-networking I cannot imagine. But with the intracacy of Windows, anything is possible.

Nevertheless, I would have to decline to recommend this.
