Unlocking V186, having no luck

For the past month i've been trying to unlock my V186 and i have gotten pretty much nowhere. All i know is that I have a data cable that works for unlocking and I have a faint idea that the software i need it called Motorola Service Software 4.0.0.9, otherwise i'm stuck. Does anyone have access to this software or a way around the use of it??? Someone suggested I flash my V186 with V180 firmware, but i'm rather hesitant to do so. Got and suggestions? BTW, i've search all popular search engines and even warez search engines and gotten nuthing.
