hi guys , ive had my ps2 slimline for just over a year and decided to buy swapmagic for it i got the keys with it too ( my model number for the ps2 is SCPH-70003).
it was working great lastnight and my swapmagic discs came this morning so i followed the instuctions but could not get it to work , as i was trying to put the last tool in the back near the lip the disc i had in wasnt spinning , i tryed for about 20mins then rang the place i got the discs from for a bit of advice he told me that the tools they sent was right and that if i wiggle the tool about the disc should start to spin.
I then saw that my ps2 was on standby so upon pressing the on/off switch it would go green for about a second then back to red.
I tryed again and again but it keeps doing the same , so i took off the other tools an tryed like i played it lastnight with a original in but no it now goes from red to green for a second then back to red.
Has anyone had this sort of prob and if so how can i fix it ?
im no expert on PS2's or PSTwo's but I build and repair PC's & Mac's. It sounds to me that you
may have shortend something out, are your keys plastic or metal? as my v14 has metal and
my v12 has plastic.
ah i get ya .
no because my warranty has gone , i opened up my ps2 to make sure the tool at the back of the hinge was hitting the button it should be.
i taped down the little button innside to make sure instead of using the key thingy.
but its still doing the same going from a red light to a green the stright back to a red light :(
even when i took off all the tools and put things back to normal it wont work anymore , i`m real desprate to get it sorted
well the power supply is probly not shortend out, but you may have hit a chip or somthing similer. When i burned mine up it was a chip (i think BIOS). But it would power on but sit at a black screen.
