As far as I know, the Raelian Movement is the only religion that demystifies everything around us. Everything has a rational explanation. For those who never heard of the Raelian Movement here's a brief explanation: All life was created by scientists from another planet, including us. The universe in infinite in time and space. Rael, the last prophet, was given the responsibility by the Elohim (term used by Raelians for those scientists from another planet) to spread the final message to all humanity. To learn more, go to http://www.i'manidiot.org edited by ddp and download a free e-book starting with "Intelligent Design: Message from the Designers".

I want to know which planet, The only one in our solar system that could have supported life was Mars. But due to its magnetic field being lost several million years ago, the atmosphere was "blown" away by the solar wind! So where did they come from? How did they get here? the nearest star is Proxima Centauri, 4.5 light years away. So even with the fastest spaceships would take tens of thousands of years to get here! So what did they live on?
So many questions, so few answers! Typical!
Just worked out how many miles it is, 2.64357931x10 to the power of 13 (26,435,793,100,000), which is 26trillion, 435billion, 793million miles.
The space shuttle orbits the earth at approx 18,000MPH. So even if we got a ship that could go say 50,000mph, it would still take 528,715,862 hours, which equates to 60,355.69 yrs! to reach Proxima Centauri & vice versa. That is assuming of course that the star happens to have a planet that orbits it at 93 million miles! (I take the speed of light @ 186,283 miles per second) So if we say you have 5 yrs to get somewhere, you would have to travel at a staggering 603,556,900mph. 603.5 million mph! (.898687 of light speed)That's some spacecraft!
I am not sure what sort of star it is, our star is a yellow dwarf. But there are so many types of stars, red dwarf, brown dwarf, white dwarf, yellow dwarf. yellow giant, red giant, blue giant, neutron, pulsar (where I got my name from!) supergiant & Quasar (Quasi stellar radiation) so on & so forth. All of which burn at different rates, making the possibilty of a planet that orbits, being able to support life, remote to say the least! Sirius is the brightest star in the sky, but it is 8.6 light years away! The power is phenomenal! Not forgetting of course that many star systems are binary!

"But you know when everything's broken down and it's all particles and solar systems you start to wonder if you're just part of a chair leg or a teacupor something...So if you see me wearing a golden teacup round my neck on every seventh sunday shouting 'follow me', you'll know i was right.If not, you'll know there must have been something in my tea."

I'm not making fun, I'm just pointing out facts. The Raelians say that we are from outer space, I have no objections with this, I just want to know where & that the distances involved are huge. The laws of physics are ones that we have to live by, Einstein proved that you cannot go faster then the speed of light, Tachyon particles are supposed to travel faster. But the faster you go, time slows down, this was proved in the seventies when atomic clocks were placed in an aircraft, calibrated to ones on the ground, after a flight, the times were compared, the time on the aircraft had slowed down, exactly according to Einsteins theory.
Here is a link to give the exact calculations Einstein came up with;

http://www.angelfire.com/ok/TheDeepSkies/LSTheory1.html

Here is an extract from the link;

"As the above table shows, it would be impossible to ever travel at 100% of the speed of light because your spacecraft would have a weight of infinite and therefore need an engine of infinite power. Also, your spacecraft would have a length of zero and therefore not exist!"

That is not making fun....

I am an atheist, many religious people find that unacceptable & quite abhorrent. I prefer to go with what science & experiment prove.

One comparison to the existance of God, is like saying there is a teapot in space, You cannot prove it is there, I cannot prove it is not there, but, because I cannot prove it is not there, does not mean it is! We are told we should have faith, quite frankly that is a massive cop out!

You are most welcome to do the calculations for yourself. It took only a few minutes.
Light speed is 670,978,800mph.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Raëlism is the belief system promoted by the Raëlian Movement, a quasi-religious organization which believes that scientifically advanced extraterrestrials known as the Elohim (taken from the Hebrew texts of the Christian Bible and the Torah and usually translated into God in English but translated by those who came from the sky in the Raëlian message) created life on Earth through genetic engineering, and that a combination of human cloning and "mind transfer" can ultimately provide immortality. Raëlism is classified as a new religious movement by most scholars and governments but has been perceived by some people and governments as a cult.

Raëlian Movement,

quote
Claude Vorilhon (born 1946), also known as Raël, was an aspiring entertainer and performer who had produced a short-lived automobile racing magazine entitled Auto Pop, before he allegedly received a vision from the celestial Elohim on December 13, 1973 in the crater of a volcano near Clermont-Ferrand in central France.

quote
According to Vorilhon a message of the human origin was dictated to him in December 1973 in personal meetings with a 25,000-year-old extraterrestrial who came in a UFO.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Do (né Marshall Herff Applewhite) (May 17, 1931 - c. March 26, 1997) was the leader of the Heaven's Gate cult. He died in the cult's suicide in 1997.

Applewhite was born in 1931, the son of a Presbyterian minister who started new churches and moved from place to place in Texas about every three years. As a kid, Applewhite wanted to preach like his father did.
