I have searched the forum and cannot find reasons why I am still having problems playing official UMDs even though I have used WAB ersion Changer (and SXT Version Changer) to change from 1.5 Firmware to 2.0.
For example, I have Fifa 06 and Go Sudoku (and GTA but that won't work - we know that!).
Both of these UMDs will not work on my 1.5 Firmware even though I have used SXT to change to 2.0 Firmware.
They used to work before I downgraded (obviously).
Can anyone give any solution to my problems?
Also, would it not be good to have a list of Official UMDs which will not work on a 1.5 Firmware evn with a version changer.
I have downgraded my PSP from 2.00 to 1.50 and there are some UMDs that will not work (as discussed in previous messages).
Even though I have used SXT to trick the PSP, it still refuses to run the UMD (FFFFFED???...etc)
Mainly, am trying to run games such as Go Sudoku and GTA.
Now... here is where the weird things happen.....
I have just downgraded my mate's PSP in exactly the same way I downgraded mine. However, when I run UMD Dumper to dump the Go Sudoku UMD, my PSP tells me it cannot run (FFFFED??? error...etc) but when I use UMD Dumper on my mates PSP, it dumps just fine (ISO does not work, but the UMD Dumper does).
What is going on???????
I have read all the forums and have not found anything that says numerous UMDs will not run on a 1.5 (emulated to 2.0 using SXT).
Surely the UMDs should run?????
Please Plaese HELP!!!!
PS - System Info:-
PSP 2.00 downgraded to 1.50 using MPH downgrader.
SXT Version Changer used to patch firmware to 2.00 or 2.01
UMD Dumper v0.2
Fastloader 0.7
Official UMDs not working:- Go Sudoku, GTA, FIFA 2006
SXT Version Changer doesn't work wattster. Yes you run it and you can go into system settings and see the firmware is listed differently, but it actually doesn't work. I tried this as well, had the same problem. It will never work, anyone here should be able to tell ya the same. There are other ways to get 2.0 games to run on 1.5, there is a decrypter program you can get on psp-hacks.com. I got pacman world 3 running on my 1.5 using that, problem is you cannot save the game. Hopefully it will just be a matter of time before they find a good way, but again, that SXT Version Changer will not work for what you are trying to do. Sorry. :(
Appreciate the quick response. Does SXT work differently from WAB? I know that using SXT fools the firmware, but does WAB actually write that change to the internal flash? If so, writing to the internal flash many times is a bit dodgy, is it not?
BTW, with much appreciation to your response, I still cannot understand why UMDs which ask for version 2.00 or higher will not run on PSPs running 1.5 with version changers which show they are running 2.00 or higher.
Sorry to be a nuisance, but am getting fairly clued up on the PSP operating system, but some things still puzzle me.
