Hi all! I'm having a problem with a mod chip install, maybe you can help. I have a V4 PS2 and just installed a duo 2 SE mod chip. The console powers up, but will not recognize originals, backups, DVD's, nothing. If I start the console in chip disable mode, it will then recognize and boot originals and DVD's, but of couse not backups. Is this a laser problem? Install problem? You guys are great, been reading post for quite some time, and I thank you in advance for your help.

K, update on my problems....I just tore the console apart, adjusted the laser acording to one of the links on this site. Now the console will recognize originals about half of the time, but still not backups. I also tried again in disable mode and it worked fine still with the originals. My backups are on DVD-R, burned with DVDecrypter, at 2X write speed. I've never done this before, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Maybe bad DVD-R media what DVD-R media are you using? The best -R media is Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's. You can get some cheap at supermediastore.com but if you don't want to go there just go here http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
before you buy any DVD-R media from the store to check if it is good media.
