Is there a way to use an external hd case with a SATA connection instead of USB? I will be using the drive for video editing and need the SATA speed, USB's not fast enough I'm told?

I don"t see How because how would you connect the Drive to your PC Externally as there are No SATA Connections on the Outside of your PC....

If you want Faster External Drive speed then get a External Firewire Drive as they are Much Faster than USB 2.0 Drives....

USB drives have a Max Bandtidth of 480mb/sec but this is only Burst speed and can not sustain this Speed for more than a couple seconds and it"s Sustained Speed is Much Much lower than 480mb/s....

Firewire Drives have a Sustained Max Speed of 400mb/Sec so it can Transfer data all day at this Speed were USB Can not....

Why Not just use an SATA drive as an Internal Drive?? Or do you Really need the Portability of an external Drive?? If so then go for Firewire....

Cheers

Yea, I can go internal with the SATA drive, I was just trying not to cram too much into the case, I've got a DVD-RW drive, a CD-RW drive, a floppy and a 60 gb SATA hard drive, as well as an external 80 gb USB drive.
