Did you try divineo.com? Modchipman.com might have it. I seen usbextreme on ihackps2.org for like 20 bucks, but I'm not sure if the site is legit or not. Yeah, its only software so you'll need the external hard drive. But I heard that the compatiblity rate with games are pretty low.

Yes, you have to pay for it. Unless you have a way of booting backups, in which case you could aquir it a little differently.

The games take forever to load though.

i'm looking @ different options.
modchips are the best way to go, but i have to get the laser replaced, and i have to burn dvds. and i have to buy #1 class dvdr's.

Well for usb extrmes, id say http://www.consoleasia.com, they seem to have it for 27.99 :). Thats pretty cheap. I ordered there around 4 times so far, and they ship quite speedily.
