Hi,
I used vso divx to dvd 0.5.2.99 to take an .avi video to dvd format. I then used tmpgenc 1.6.26.99 to ad the menus etc & put it in the correct format. I then used nero 6 enterprie eddition to burn it.

When I play it on the dvd player there are green square blotches that pop up every now and again.

Does anyone know what this is.

I can play the output from the divx & tmpgenc and the blotches arnt there, so am I right in thinking its nero thats doing it?

are you using good media? what manufacturer ID is your burned disk? Usually crappy media is the problem.... but if you're using good media it must be something that happened while burning. Did you multi tasked while your were burning? Did you burn at a high speed (higher than 4x)? Did you set your encoder not to make the files larger than 4384 (some members go to 4400) so it doesn't burn too close to the outer edge? These are some of the issues that could cause pixilations that you have.

the media is DATAWRITE but I have no idea how good they are.

Yes I was using the pct the time.

I have no idea on setting blocksize, so i guess whatever is the standard, but I will look to see.

you're media is 3rd or 4th class crappy media! here is a guide that will show you what is good and what is bad: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

get the free version of DVDInfo Pro: http://www.dvdinfopro.com/
this will show you what manufacturer ID your media is!

I bet if you change your media your problems will go away. Get Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Maxell, Sony...... made in Japan......and you won't have those problems anymore!
