I'm having problems with an AVI file that i'm trying to convert to DVD. It only seems to be this one film though, the sound is know where near in sync with the film. I've converted loads of other films before but this one just doesn't. The sound in AVI file before converting is fine but after its not. Does anyone know how i can fix this problem?

I know exactly how to fix it, if you read this thread, you will see I tried everything and only one program fixed it.

Sounds like the audio may have been compressed with a different codec than what the video was converted to. Don't know how in-depth you want to get with this particular vid, but have you tried TMPGEnc, or VirtualDub? I'm no pro with these two proggy's by any means, but I do know the majority of alignment problems can be fixed by tweaking a couple things.

Yeh, for some reason when compressed to a specific codec such as DivX or XviD, the already compressed stream becomes even more compressed and then bounces in and out of alignment.
