I have 2 version 3 consoles,And both lasers went started going out on me at the same time. Irecently bought a refurbished laser from a seller on Ebay. I installed it on one of the machines and it worked perfectly, would read any and every disc I had. It worked for 2 weeks. Then all of a sudden just stopped all together one day. Does anyone have any other ideas as to what the problem might be with this laser. It is the right model also khs-400B. Thanks for any help

sounds as if the prossesor is not taking the info that the laser is gathering for it ..that is if the laser is spinning and reading for sure .. its a common problem that i have encounered many times ..
best thing to do is to take of the front plastic peice of the disk tray .. this way when you put a disk in you can see the red light from the laser ... if you cant see it then the laser you bought was about to go anyway.. but if you can see it and after cleaning it and checking all the connections on it to make sure nothing came loose ..it still wont read anything .. then its probably the prosesser and then i would suggest going down to game stop or whereever you like to go and picking up a refurbished one .. should be less than 100 bucks nowadays .. good luck bud
