well i found a interresting way to run a nintendo gamecube non modded of course in hdtv without a special digital component cable from nintendo

here is what you need

1.a nintendo mobile monitor (intec or interact recommended try ebay)

2.a hdtv compatible tv set

3.a av audio cable with about a good five feet or better length just need one do not worry about the audio yet

4.a av audio plug to headphone plug converter

5.a new nintendo av cable for the gamecube

these instructions where written for a intec mobile monitor for gamecube but can be adapted to fit other mobile monitors that clip on the gamecube

let me explain hoe this works

nintendo on several models of newer and older game cubes decided to remove the component cable output on the back of the gamecube and even if you have this port the cable will cost about 80.00 by the time you get done with shipping so i found out that if you take a mobile monitor and run a passthough for the video to connect to a tv so you can leave the tv and the mobile monitor on at the same time it tricks the gamecube into hdtv mod without having to use the stupid b button on startup

here is what you do

first purchase a mobile monitor from ebay you will notice once you get your mobile monitor there will be the nintendo av audio plug that plugs into the gamecube on it cut it off

open the new gamecube av audio cables cut the heads off of the ends and wire then to the mobile monitor on a intec mobile monitor the main video is red and thicker wire and the audio right is red and the
audio left is white thinner wire

now once you wire the new head to the mobile monitor and dont forget to solder your connections

connect a single av audio cable to your video signal once you do this you can now run the video on the mobile monitor and on the tv at the same time but the mobile monitor has to be on for the sound to work

then run a headphone jack from the side of the mobile monitor to the av audio ports on the tv set or surround sound system i found also works the best to

then hook up the mobile monitor to the nintendo gamecube turn on the mobile monito and turn up the sound on it turn on the gamecube and you now are in a permenite hdtv signal

the reason why this works

because all mobile monitors convert the av signal from anolog comming out of the gamecube to digital comming out of the mobile monitor so when the monitor sends the signal to the tv it sends it in hdtv without having to use the stupid progressive scan cable from nintendo
