I was going to use Ashampoo Movie Shrink and Burn 2 to convert and burn the files, but it seems that it only converts to avi, svcd, and vcd files and then only certain DVD players can play those. Anyways, the file I have right now is a BIN image. I am going to convert it into an mpg file, and then avi. Is there a guide that will show me what to do once I have converted everything into the avi format? Also, should I convert the BIN image or no? Would I be able to just convert the BIN image into an ISO image, and then burn it so that it would be able to play in almost all DVD players? If so, how? Sorry for all of the questions. Thanks in advanced.

EDIT:
I also forgot to mention that the BIN images are in two different parts, so I imagine that I would have to combine them while burning?? I can combine them while in mpg format, but I assume that the image format will be easier to burn/convert??

If you do convert the files to AVI then there is a good guide in my sig by alkohol on how to burn to DVD using Nero. I think that the majority of players today accept the -R format.

Oh yeah, I saw that guide. Unfortunately, my Nero doesn't have Nero Vision with it. It's Nero 6 Ultra Edition by the way. Thanks for the effort though, I appreciate it.

If youalready own Nero6 ultra and have a s/n then you can download NVE as an update, go to http://www.nero.com and download package 2

You've been talking about containers (like lunch in a bag) for files. AVI, ISO, and BIN are just that, containers. Besides having an app that handles the container, it has to handle the codec inside the container. NVE does a bunch of that automatically for the user. Whatever you have, it has to be converted to DVD format or one that will play on your particular standalone player. Newer systems support multiple formats. But for your conversion you want to be in DVD-Video MPEG2. First you have to open and combine the bin files. I use Alcohol 120 for handling Bin files (not conversion). Then NVE may work or you can try DivXToDVD 2 (VSO-software) if in the DivX format.

Thank you for the input brobear. But I realized that my DVD players play SVCD and VCD formats, so I'll just burn it like that. Thanks anyways.

Glad you got it solved. There's a lot of encoders and conversion apps. Often so many it's confusing. Good luck.
