Ok, I've been trying to make a DVD with DVD-lab and video files from my PC. I used Win AVI Video Converter to convert the files into "DVD" files, and I selected to convert them into MPEG-2 files which should be readable by DVD players. So I converted my files properly, but when I tried to import them into my asset area in DVD-lab, there was problems with the audio. The video can be put into the timeline just fine, but the audio gets extracted into another file (this is fine, I get why) but this audio can't be heard when I put it in the timeline. I've done the "audio transcode" thing and it looked like it worked fine, but I still couldn't hear anything when it was in the timeline. I tried to listen to the file outside the program in another on its own, and it worked just fine, I could hear it all perfectly, yet for some reason the program won't let me hear it. I also tried to "Compile DVD" to test if it was just the program messing up or something, but there was no audio when I compiled it either. Does anyone know what's going on here or have any recomendations?

Maybe DVD Lab requires a specific codec for the compressed audio stream? Have you any codec packs installed? If not, I would suggest visiting the Software tab above and checking the "Codec" link. My own personal opinion is to install the K-Lite codec Pack. If you do have another codec pack installed, remove it prior to install of K-Lite.

I've got the k-lite codec pack already... I did find out that DVD-lab does not support audio in it's preview window, but when I tried to compile the DVD it still had no audio...

have you tried ripping the audio from the original AVI with virtual dubmod or riverpast? Had this problem and ripped the audio, saved it as a mp2 file in wavelab (lots of free software will do this too) and made an mpeg in TMP...it demuxed in DVDlab and the audio was fine...maybe a problem with original audio format...just replace the audio.
Just an afterthought...did you make sure the audio was set at 48 in winavi, DVDlab should pick it up if its not and re-encode it for you if you have the option ticked in settings.
