Well, i have a PS2 with the DMS 3 mod-chip.
Now, i have a little problem, i can't use my AR MAX or Gameshark on it, after i take the boot disc and put the game disc, my PS2 don't recognize the game.
All DVD-R, and all work when i play them without using any cheat device.
But here's the thing, my original games play without problem, when i use them with a cheat device.
Is it normal for the DMS 3 to behave like this with cheating devices and DVD-R's?
Something is not right, i think, i downloaded the upgrade and burned it.
Now, when i try to upgrade the chip with it, the screen freezes in the "Programming Flash, Please do not turn off the PS2".
Does it really take an awful long to update, or is something wrong there?
1) Burn a good clean copy of the appropriate firmware to CDR.
2) Put the CD into your ps2, and turn the power off.
3) Reset your firmware to the default temporarily. Do this by: Power-on the console using reset. When the blue light comes on, press reset. Repeat this procedure 4 times.
4) Wait until the flashing program is launched, and the chip is re-flashed (hopefully successful this time!)
Now, something is deffinitely wrong...i can't power the console with the reset when the light is red, only with the eject.
Now, this means that the chip wasn't propperly "inserted" on the PS2, right?
Well, if it is the case, do you suggest that i change the chip? Or just try to fix the one i have?
