I am using AnyDVD 5.8.3.1 and cucosoft DVD to iPod conversion suite and am having trouble with Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Boondock Saints. The movie plays fine for a bit, but then starts 'goose stepping'. You know, 2 steps forward and 1 step back. It's like the movie is trying to repeat the last frame or couple of frames while it is still moving forward. I am wondering if this is a software glitch or do I need to clean my originals? If I need to clean the originals, what is recommeded? The dvd plays fine in all my players and all my back ups of these two have been good, too. Thanks in advance.

Well it is probably a software glitch, I'd recommend reinstalling the software or trying another method, as they are fairly picky about working right. There are some great guids stickied to the top of the forum that you might want to check out.

I finally had success with one dvd. I used dvd decrypter and videora dvd to ipod converter. seperately and after I shut down EVERYTHING else on my computer. I think the backup that I am taking from has a tiny defect in the surface.
