I recently authored a DVD in adobe encore 1.5. The DVD is essentially a PowerPoint-esque slideshow with 9 videos in between slides. The slides themselves are actually just menus that are linked to each other, but there is one true main menu at the beginning. The DVD works perfectly, there are no errors, and everything links to everything just the way I want it.

When I author DVDs, I run them through DVD Shrink when I'm done just to triple-check everything. I don't get any errors from DVD Shrink, but it puts one of my 9 videos under the "extras" heading, and the other 8 in the "main movie" heading. It just so happens to be the shortest video of the bunch, so I was wondering if Encore by default labels your shortest video as an "extra," or if this is just a little bug in DVD Shrink.

As I already mentioned, this isn?t causing any problems with the DVD itself, but I would like to know if there is a reason for this for future reference. Thanks in advance for your help.

Most likely what you're seeing is DVDShrink trying to figure out where all those pieces of your DVD go. Shrink isn't designed for homebrew movies in the sense that it expects a certain order to things. Shrink feels that it needs to label something as an "extra feature", and logically chose the shortest clip of the bunch. When's the last time your extras were longer than the feature? : )
