computer; Dell 4600 pentium 4, 2.6 ghz processor 512meg ram 80gig hd
software; AnyDVD latest vers. breaks copyright codes, 1 click DVD (compresses to DVD5, can remove unwanted [IE: extras, subtitles, different languages, menus etc.]) to copy in to computer for testing, verifying good rip, Intervideo 4 to burn with.

honesty is a virtue

rip to hd 16 to 22 minutes

burn to disc 6 to 12 minutes

quality is great cant tell difference from original with 56" widescreen

If you can do better with different software please tell me because time is money and I have a lot better things to do with my time than to wait around to back up movies every time I buy one to keep my children from scratching up my originals.

hmmm let's see - I think my average is around 25 mins (burn at 8x) so I'm right around your times. The one pc I mainly use is custom pentium 4 w/ 2.8 ghz and a gig ram. No testing for me though once ripped. I have no problems like you so don't see the need. I usually use AnyDVD w/ Clone DVD but I do a full backup 'blanking' the stuff I don't want in CloneDVD trying to keep compression ratio above 60%.
Or I use Nero Recode w/ AnyDVD - times is about the same.

yep that's total time. Your right it is user preference. While both of my favs will do movie only I still do a full backup. I like my menus!! With AnyDVD running and having checked the option to remove 'annoying trailers & adverts' it makes 'blanking' the special features in CloneDVD unnoticable - it puts them in the end and if their unchecked is just a blank space for a few secs.

I have been told that I need to use filters and denoise it after copying but I cant tell the difference so why should i bother wasting my time I also like to have my menus
