DMS 4LITE Works,cannot flash,problems reading please help.

Ok first off, I have a Version 4 no gap, with a DMS 4lite installed. I used 30 gauge wrapping wire for the install. I was very carefull on all the connections and triple checked everything, with pins that were close together I checked for shorts with my ohm meter.

So when I boot up normal games the eject button will blink and then the game will boot, that tells me the modchip is working right? I can also dissable the modchip but pressing sqaure.

I thought my modchip came preflashed with Toxic But I guess they screwed me, dont remember where I bought it from, was over a year ago, had a no solder chip that was working till now.

So I downloaded Toxic Bios and burned using nero and CDRWIN and it will not read the cd!!, I hear a scratching noise comming from the ps2...I did get it to do that once, only once!, on a ps1 game, but not any ps2 games, and it reads dvds fine as well.

The ps2 worked fine before install so I am hesitant to think it is some bad worm gears or my laser as I do not play it that often.

I am going to try burning the disc on differnt media from my work comp, and I will check some connections on the mod, but I am pretty sure that the mod is working and the connections are solid.

Does anyone have any ideas at all on what is going on????

Burn it to disc following this guide:

1. Unzip the firmware
2. Insert your blank CD-R.
3. Open Alcohol 120%.
4. Go to File-->Open and browse to the cue file. Double click it.
5. Once it's open under Alcohol 120%, right click the cue file. Select image burning wizard.
6. Select your recorder, set the write speed to 4x, leave the write method alone, set the datatype to PS2 and click next.

you didn't use the 30 awg wire for power and gnd did you? if your starving the chip for power with small wires it will not flash. and no DMS chip comes with a flash other then a DMS flash which will only boot homebrew applications (not backups) they all require someone to flash a 3rd party flash (such as the Toxic bios/OS)

I got it to work, it was just bad media, or my burner. I burned on different media on my work computer and it flashed fine. Thanks for your help guys.
