once i get my xbox out of storage i want to start copying games and back them up to my xbox hardrive. i know i need a chip, i am going to get that. my question is i want to replace my hard drive with a bigger one. but if i do that do i have to backup all the files on the old drive then put them onto the new one? and also is there a certain drive i have to use?

I think backing up your C: folder on the Xbox to your PC is a good idea, but other than that you should not need to transfer anything from the old to the new drive. As the auto installer will do it all.
