i know this may be a very "noobish" question, but i'm not sure which modchip i have,
Description: Directboot (DVD+R for sure, -R i havent tried)
My PS2 is V7


Thats about it......the reason i dunno, is cuz it was a gift from my cousin and he's not sure which chip he bought for me. I don't need the chip name for any specific reason, im rly wondering tho....

Any help would be appreciated

based on your great description, you could have pretty much any modchip. Does it say anything about the chip when you turn on the ps2? You might have to open your ps2 up and look at the chip.

sorry bout the description....i no its pretty simple.....It says nothing when i turn on the ps2.....i think i will have a look at it....
