hello all. i have noticed a few threads already about this subject but i have a thought on what the problem is. unfortunatly i dont know how to fix it. although i will continue to troubleshoot.

what i have noticed is that when my tray closes my laser doesnt come up high enough to push up white disc (as it previously did). i am wondering if the laser tray is not coming up high enough and that is why is is coming open continuously. is there anyway to adjust how high or low the laser tray goes.

upon further inspection i have noticed that the ribbon cable for the spindle motor can get caught under the laser tray. if this ribbon is not layed flat it will cause the laser tray to not rise completely which in turn causes the disc tray to close and then open repeatedly. shame i didnt wait 10 more mins to post the first time. but hopefully this will help others out who may ahve this problem in the future.
