can ISO files made by using DVD shrink be played using a software like WIN DVD? I have converted the vedio_TS file(of a movie) into a ISO file using DVD shrink, but I could not play it using WIN DVD. can anybody help me how to get it palyable?

thankx, but I have backed up the dvd into my hard disk as a iso file, can't it be played? what has to be done futher?

As far as I know, ISO files cannot be played. I could be wrong, though. ISO files may contain a lot of information such as titles, chapters, menus, etc. which cannot be played back unless burned onto a DVD-R or DVD+R.

Yes, an iso image can be played on your HDD (only it won't look like an iso image file). What you have to do is to mount the image on your hard drive as a virtual drive, basically the image will appear as another drive with a letter (ex. f:\) that you will now be able to access and play (using media player classic as mentioned).

To do this you'll need a little application called 'VCdControlTool'. No installation is required, and it comes with a read me file that will tell you exactly have to do it.
