PSX wont boot Breaker pro v1.1 with d-skin

I just got around to putting a d-skin on my breaker pro v1.1 disk and i went to try iy and it wont boot, i take the dskin off and boots right up. Back up's lay fine. I opened the the PSX and saw a pot (im guessing for the laser) if so should i use it? what way should i turn it?
