I wonder what it would be like to live in a universe where it isn't Sony against the world? They've got the Blu-ray vs HD DVD war going on the DVD-Video front. Really, I can live with that. It's just that it's such a waste that the music lovers don't have much working right now in the DVD-Audio galaxy. Sony has such smart R&D people you have to feel that if they could have somehow been on board for the DVD-Audio format development, that maybe we would be listening to beautiful DAC-choking 64 bit (or at least 32 bit) music right now. Of course they did not, as instead they are going up against DVD-Audio with the SACD Audio format. Once again Sony is off on another proprietary tangent. Some things never change.
I'm not begrudging them the right to be greedy. Hey, I'm just as greedy as the next guy, when it comes down to it. I just think that it would be cool if they could somehow learn how to play nice with some other company besides Philips. After all, wouldn't it be great to have some nicely arranged fat-worded bits to send through that SPDIF? I think that the beautiful minds at Sony could quite possibly help us out on that, if only their bosses would allow them to.

sony created SACD in 1999, well before DVD-Audio came about. Sony is a great company with great products. The electronic industry would be nowhere near what it is today without Sony. They have pioneered the way for and created so many products its crazy. Beta, audio CD, SACD, Blu-ray, and thats just media formats...I firmly stand behind any product they develop.

sony better learn to please us as we are the guys that pays there bill's,or they will go into the crapper.

i dont support sony.the only thing ive had by sony were a pair of earphones and my PS1 which was modded anyway.i find in audio equiptment that pioneer is just as good as sony with less costs.i know sony is a good and reliable brand in most things but there stuff is usually overpriced.yeah sony haD an agreement back in the days of the snes to bring out the nintendo cd rom system but due to greed nintendo told sony where to go.sony then went and made the PS1.toshiba and sony were working together on the PS2 but i think sony found a cheaper was to make the hardware.
custom built gaming pc from early 2010,ps2 with 15 games all original,ps3 500gbs with 5 games all original,yamaha amp and 5.1channel surround sound speakers,46inch sony lcd smart tv.

im not gonna try and start an arguement but the xbox is far superior to the ps2.the ps1 and snes were both great consoles.

just because the xbox was made a few years later with a faster cpu and higher memory gpu doesn't mean its better...its just newer. as far as quality and quantity of games, the ps2 still dominates.

Ah man, nobody is impartial anymore, nobody!
I have a PS2 & An Xbox. To me, apart from things like gaming titles, there is little difference. I can't stand these conversations, that's why I keep out of the gaming forums. Everyone's got something to say but nobody can see the other side..

I don't get deep into these discussions either but Sony did change the console business. That is a fact. Xbox have capitilised on this. If it wasn't for Sony I doubt MS would of bothered to make the Xbox.

They make good TVs, but that ARCOOSS crap they are trying is an evil empire type of thing. ireland is right, they wouldn't be anything if we the ppl were not buying from them.

Sony always tries to take care of number one (Themselves).
The psx and ps2 have been wonderful.
However the new protections on there audio-cd's
I do not agree with what so-ever.
I also had trouble with 'the fog',
until I tried DVDD in iso mode hehe.
Just my 2 cents.
