It seems that there are several people trying to backup Flight Plan, The Fog, and The Cave but are having problems with AnyDVD and CloneDVD2.
The problem is that those of you using AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 that are getting errors need to update your software. I understand that most people who backup DVDs do not like to pay for software but if you want a reliable software that is worth every penny then just pay the money and order the newest versions of AnyDVD and CloneDVD2.
Once you have these on your machine you should have no problem backing up most any movie.
DVD Fab Decrypter is okay but doesn't always work with the newer Sony movies. That is where CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD comes in to play. They work with every type DVD.
Wow, this is all so confusing. At first, I was using DVDshrink and auto burn w/ Nero. All copies were good, unless the media was cheap CompUSA (I learned). I now use Fuji or Memorex, and they work great. But, When DVDShrink would not do it, I found and used CloneDVD2 w/ AnyDVD and all was fine again.
But with Flight Plan, Legend of Zorro, The Fog came, error messgs would pop up,(just as some are complaining) about not reading from the DVD. Then I tried good 'ol DVDShrink 3.2 and I was able to only do the Fog.
I have read a few posts, I see that some favor DVDfab Decrypter v2.9..
DVDidle & Imgburn. I will try these. As for them being free, whats with the trial reminder? Anyone with new or garanteed info is welcomed.
Quote:I now use Fuji or Memorex, and they work great.
lets get you started early........ memorex is just utter crap.. throw it away, it will cause you more greif then you care to know..
better stick with the fuji..
dvd fab and image burn are free programs...and so far, will remain free !
there are a bevy of programs and preferences for every taste and experience level but a real simple solution that works 98% of the time for me is DvdFabDecrypter freeware version- for ripping to hard drive, DVD Shrink for creating and Iso and burning with Img burn which by the way was created by the author of DVD Decrypter which is no longer available for download as the right were sold I believe to Sony. The programs I mention are all freeware and cost nothing while out performing many of the for pay programs and do one thing or two and do it well without adding bloat to your hard drive. Nero and Media creator have become so bloated with software I neither want nor will use plus they cost upwards of $79 everything I need for burning is available here on Afterdawn including helpful tutorials and advice.
Nuff Said"""
this is verry true what has been said by everyone on this post what works best fo me is shrink and dvd region+cssfree running in the backround this combo will do every movie to date with no problems at all.
