Nero DVD speed to check DVD burn quality

When people use a utility such as Nero to check the quality of their burned discs, what are they referring to when they say they have a near perfect curve?

I've scanned my discs using Nero DVD speed and get quality scores of over 95 which I assume is good. But what should the curve look like?

It measures how well the DVD is read by the player.
