Hello, this is my first post here, so forgive my ignorance if the solution is blatantly clear for everyone but me.

Once I had a GC with the old Viper Modchip, I ran Cobra 1.2 on this, and booted games without much trouble. (Installed the chip myself, it was my first modding experience) Then my girlfriend left me, took the Gamecube with her. I then got myself a new gamecube, ordered the new Viper Exstreme modchip, got it all set up like the old one. I then got the 1.5 Cobra on the chip and tried to boot some of the old games that worked on the last Cube, but to no avail.

The disk spinns, but after a while it just gives up and the normal GC logo loads and shows -no disk-. This happend once in a while on the old cube, but I did a hard-restart (perhaps I had to do this once or twice) and the game would load, but now.. nothing. I tried to downgrade to 1.2 and see if that helped (since thats what I had when the games booted last) but no help there.

Everything else looks fine, bios loads like a charm and it looks like it did before. Anyone know what I have done wrong?

Have you adjusted the pot yet? Not all GameCubes will read back-ups with the stock setting.

Go here to learn how to disassemble your cube. The article is titled "Guide for taking apart the GameCube".

Then read here:

Happy pot tweaking !
