I did a google on anti riaa and was directed to this web site.
I'm new to this forum, so if I am repeating something discussed in the past, please excuse me, but maybe I can get an answer.
What would stop someone from registering a website with a foriegn webhosting service who does not answer to the U.S. courts, nor gives a rats behind what the RIAA thinks? On this website would be downloadable music. Now, of course RIAA is going to try to get the foriegn webhosting service (say it's in the republic of Zambambwa)...this service cannot be forced by anyone to divulge the person's information who is running the website.
I think it would be hilarious if it can be done, to see the RIAA tear it's hair out because there would not be a thing they could do.
What I don't like is that they have went after people who WERE innocent, these people had to pay lawyers, etc., and the RIAA could care less. Or the fact that they find you download ONE song, and then claim this song is worth $10,000!!!! But it's the gestapo-like tactics they engage in, and our own government helps them. There was a time when it would have been IMPOSSIBLE for ANYONE to go to any business and say "hey, we suspect someone of doing something illegal, show us your records", and get away with it. What grinds me is how many people have they looked into and found they were innocent. They didn't take any action, BUT THEY GOT A COURT TO ORDER A BUSINESS TO DIVULGE PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT A CLIENT!
Anyway, if anyone can give some input on this, maybe there is someone who could find a foreign webhosting service that RIAA can't touch, and do it just to tick off the RIAA...and you can bet when they start it, it will be big news all over the net.

Welcome to the site. I think you could broadcast your website from the moon and they would still find a way to shut you down. They sue people who are dead.

Thats funny :)

Seriously...what if you were with a webhosting service that had no treatie with the U.S.? One that had no laws about copyrighted music, or in fact, was in a country that it was perfectly legal to do it? Then this hosting service would tell the RIAA to shove it, and of course U.S. courts would have no jurisdiction and a court order would be laughed at. I at least know that you can not tell the address of a person running a website, only the host's address. No way for RIAA to track a person down. You notice that the ONLY people RIAA can go after is U.S. citizens....they can't sue anyone in Tawain for downloading copyrighted music...only the person in the U.S. who gets if from the guy in Tawain.
So, I am curious what countries do not have a copyright agreement with the U.S., and if any of them offer web hosting services.

you could get a website hosted in afgaistan, pakistan or iraq that will annoy the americans more than anything else.as for webhosting their are some australians sites that will do it but they tend to charge more.we use yahoo for my mums dog/cat breeding site.just use google and have a look around.as for copy right laws most countries have them so google search that aswell.

RIAA are gutless cowards who will do anything to make money. As someone said they even sue dead people. I'm no longer going to buy music cd's as they don't deserve a penny of my money.
