Playing .Avi Movies through USB HDD using slim PS2?

Is it possible to play .avi movies, divix or xvic movies off of a USB Hdd on a ps2 slim... (moded or unmoded)... if so what ways are there to do it and also is there a mod chip required?

I don't THINK you need a mod-chip..

Use this program

Action Replay MAX lets you:

connect your USB/external HDD to the PS2.. so that you can load games off a HDD.. or a USB.. or movies and stuff like that.. Give it a try..

There are several links for it on www.torrentspy.com - search for action replay max..

or you could just get it from P2P.

i have action replay max... and i tried running the movies off of a dvd that i burnt but it didnt work... is there a certain way you are suppose to put the files on the hdd for it to work?
